MarkoIt has been two days since I last logged into CQ and now I suddenly miss three moderators. Duncan left a small goodbye message, wurdsmiff and Philip didn't.
As to what happened Merlin shedded some light and I must say that I'm sad. I do hope that the three now gone are not completely lost for CQ and that they will continue to be a part of this forum as contributors because I appreciated their knowledge and helpfullness very much. I really think their contributions to this forum helped very much to make this great forum to what it is today.
It's also sad that the moderators, which I all thought to be mature and wise, succumb themselves to a childish row. Especially on an internet discussion where you can choose not to react or sit back and think about what you're going to say at another time.
I must say that I don't know the issue of the discussion or who said what but all in all the outcome is deplorable.

Marko

MerlinSo it is indeed. As for the rest of us: We're still alive and kickin'. And still struggling to reduce the damage. Duncan said something about showing up at CQ now and then - as for the others I fear they won't show up again. Or not within the next months.

But Marko: Please help us to keep the discussion in all the forums alive!

Merlin

duncanSheeech!!! can't some one go fishing?
I've been working to much so i haven't had the chance yet. But i'm hoping to soon when the water goes down. It'll be nice to through the hook in and lay on the bank, that is if my hook don't snag a passing tree in the current and i get pulled in.
What looks like still water can be decieving.
GordonAnd how deep's the water Ralph??

PeterSorry, what, have I missed something ?!?

AJRPeter - you missing something would be a first.

duncanUHHHHH!?!!!, i'm not sure to wish you good fishing or tell you to take a rad meter with you, got one in your fishing tackle box? What do you bait the GDM's with? depleted or hot stuff?
duncanHow do you cook what you catch or is it already microwaved?
I bet it's easy to fillet, the bones should show up well i'd think.
When you take them home do you need a special license for transport?

GordonIn actual fact the background radiation is very low, though I'm fishing the sea, the water from the outflow is like standing in a very hot bath. Don't eat the fish, just for sport, though if a Bass comes along, then I might be tempted, bait......just plain old bread set out in a trail in the current, and one piece is on a hook. Very very powerful fish, especially on light tackle.

duncanSounds like the over flow from our dams here. They use surf rods and heavy gear as the fish that get pulled through are usully the bigger ones. 8, 10 and 20 pound is not uncommon. And neither are the small ones that i go for alittle further down the river. I know a spot that only four wheel drive vehicals can get to and for some reason the fish always go to the cove after every body else have left the area. Makes a good camping spot too.
Then their is the old river near here that has some shallow parts that during the hot weather a person can walk out and grab the stranded fish, or just feed them and wait for next year.
GordonI'll just be parking the car in the car park, and stepping out onto the rocks, I could almost sit in the car and fish! No 4 by 4's required.

duncanWe used to have places like that before the corp of engineers took over and now we are charged heavly to fish any where. Can't even fish from the bank in some lakes. If we had the sea the corp would figure out a way to charge people. Most of us find it a lot strange that the people were taxed to build the lakes and now we are taxed to use them. Thats not counting the tax for fishing license's, boat license and safty inspections, safty equipment, ect. ect.

Fox AtreidesI think that ta stuff is just because of this: keeping it all easy.
When you would make exception for everything that makes no sense, you'd be busy for quite some time.
And there are more stupid things. eg. We in holland sell our earthgas to russia, which sells their gas to us, now that's dumb.
Fox AtreidesI see we've got some moderator's on the topics again, why have they got back here?
Stupid question, of course they want to be back in dis great site..,
